Collection: Australian Sapphires from Misfit's Library

Dark and Inky Quality

Australian sapphires are typically known for their deep blue color, but they also come in a range of other colors, including green, yellow, and parti-colored (a mix of blue and yellow). The blue sapphires often have a dark and inky quality, which is distinctive from the more vibrant blues of sapphires from places like Kashmir or Sri Lanka.

The high iron content in Australian sapphires is responsible for their unique color spectrum. This iron content can also impart a dark, almost black appearance to some stones.
